When you open the file you'll notice that the whole image doesn't fit on the paper, that's ok! You don't need to trace all the 'rays' of sunshine exactly, I just used one that is on the template and then copied that 8 times to get all the rays ^^

The best paper to use for uchiwas is fluorescent cardboard obviously because when the concert lights shine on it then it glows, just like the sun! The best thing to do is to stick the template FACE DOWN onto the BACK of the coloured cardboard. You will be able to see the outline of the logo through the paper so it's a good idea to trace over that with a pen so it's easier to see when you start cutting. 

I used a craft knife (or stanley knife or whatever you call it) to do the cutting. Start with the smallest parts on the inside of the logo and work your way out. 

You can embellish your uchiwa however you like! Once you have finished your uchiwa I would super appreciate if you sent me a photo of it either to @SunshineZhouMi or sunshinezhoumi@gmail.com. And of course pictures of you (or your friends) holding it at concerts/events would also be great ^^
